SOUND MIXING
Our purpose-built, soundproofed studio is one of the handful of Dolby Approved facilities in the UK outside of London. Here we create sound mixes for TV and cinema commercials, corporate films, online video and more. We can match the exacting mandatory standards required for broadcast and digital cinema as well as produce different mixes precisely optimised for specific uses – a noisy exhibition hall, a large but attentive audience at an outdoor venue, or a weary commuter on wireless headphones. To have the ability to record and mix sound just a few metres away from where they are filming and editing in our studios is a huge productivity bonus for our clients as well as giving them a high degree of control, flexibility and confidentiality they’d struggle to match anywhere else.
SOUND DESIGN
Certain projects require our sound designers to create a whole soundscape, building up a soundbed from scratch using the basic elements of voice, music and SFX. Equally challenging can be creating an aural landscape to sit behind a narrative to enhance and reinforce it but without distracting the listener or fighting with the visuals. Done well, powerful sound design can add gravitas or humour or a strong emotional pull but above all, it makes viewing more immersive.
We use ProTools (the professional industry standard) so if you have an existing project that you’d like to finish or adapt with us, it should simply be a case of plug and play. Equally, we export finished mixes for clients to broadcasters and facility houses globally.
VOICE RECORDING
From a simple VO for a TV or radio commercial, to ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement) and multi-language voice-over performances for international versioning. Our state of the art, purpose-built vocal booth is an excellent (and unclaustrophobic) place to record both artists and non-professionals. We can also voice-link with remote studios anywhere in the world
